Innovazione nel patrimonio dei fari italiani. Un progetto di conservazione e uso sostenibile per la “luce” sarda di Capo Spartivento

Rehabilitating a lighthouse, within the italian scenario, it’s a really complex challenge.Many of the active italian lighthouses (estimated in 160 lights) are at risk of decay; it’s an ancient heritage where many lights were built more than 150 years ago. The Italian Navy is appointing adaptive re-use of buildings and conservation projects.Capo Spartivento lighthouse, built in 1866 and located in the southern point of Sardinia, can be considered as an exemplar project. At the end of the (restoration) works the lighthouse looks more comfortable, technological, eco- friendly and Mediterranean, in a perfect fit with the surrounding environment. The lighthouse can be seen as a best practice project in terms of architectural tuning and sustainanle materials, energy saving and power production by way of renewables and sustainable design technologies.L’articolo vuole documentare la riqualificazione del faro di CapoSpartivento in Sardegna che da area militare diventa un hotel di lusso a cinque stelle, da parte dello Studio dal Molin di Cagliari.L’obiettivo prioritario è stato risanare, riqualificare (anche con l’uso della tecnologia eccocompatibile) e ridisegnare la distribuzione degli interni e degli esterni, nel totale rispetto della tradizione mediterranea, conservarvandone il fascino classico di un faro mediterraneo che compie più di 142 anni, intervenendo con discrezione e stile, nella distribuzione interna ed esterna, sui materiali e sugli arredi. La rifunzionalizzazione del faro appare più che gradevole, confortevole, tecnologica, ecocompatibile e mediterraneo, capace di far dialogare passato e presente, perfettamente integrata con l’esterno
